Laser GENESIS

Laser Genesis is a gentle, non-resurfacing light-based procedure used for skin rejuvenation. It is a painless and safe procedure, even for darker skin tones, with minimal to no downtime.

The Science

The acronym ‘LASER’ stands for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation. A laser works by emitting a wavelength of high-energy light, which, when focused on a specific skin condition, creates heat and destroys diseased cells. Lasers are differentiated by the medium that produces the laser beam, and each type has a specific function depending on its wavelength.

The Nd (Neodymium-doped) laser, used in Laser Genesis, has a wavelength of 1064 nm and can reach deeper layers of skin tissue than other types of lasers. In the Genesis setting, bulk heating of the dermis directly stimulates collagen production, which plumps the skin and reduces the appearance of fine lines, dark spots, and wrinkles. The heat from the laser can also constrict blood vessels, reducing redness and rosacea. Additionally, it can help treat acne and scarring.
